PERUVIAN WONDERS ITINERARY
DAY 1.- LIMA IN AND CITY TOUR
Peruvian wonders package tour begins with the collection and transfer to the hotel located in Miraflores, chance to relax and child out before you begin the tour. In the afternoon, start the tour in a private transport with a great panoramic view. Lima presents three historical periods: Pre-Hispanic, Colonial and modern. The first imposing treasure of “Huaca Pucllana” (a 25 meters high pyramid made of adobes), we visit the impressive Lima downtown: Its palaces, mansions, churches and squares, finishing with a visit to the residential and financial centers of San Isidro as well as Miraflores famous for its nice shopping mall called Larco Mar, which was built on a spectacular cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Return to your hotel and stay the night.
DAY 2.- NAZCA LINES OVERFLIGHT
We will pick you up from your hotel at 3:00 am, and head to the bus terminal for your travel to Nazca. Upon your arrival, you will be transfered to the local airport where you will start your tour of the Nazca Lines.
The lines consist of geometric designs and pictures engraved in the ground, dividing a wide area of flat desert. Some of the lines measure up to 10 km. in length, and yet remain entirely straight. The portrayal of birds, insects and animals are only noticeable from the air. Who drew the lines, why and what for is something unknown that archaeologists can only theorize about, but current beliefs suggest that they may be part of a complex agricultural calendar. The flight takes about half an hour, from the air you will be able to appretiate all the geometric glyphs such as: monkeys, spiders, hummingbirds, etc. Return to Lima and transfer back to your hotel.
DAY 3.-BALLESTAS ISLANDS TOUR
We will get up early in the mornig and head towards Paracas, where you will visit the sanctuary of animals. The Ballestas Islands is an exciting and fantastic wildlife sanctuary that is filled with wild birds and mammals, including sea lions, fur seals, and endangered Humboldt penguins. During this two hour boat tour you will come face-to-face with these animals in their natural habitation while you are onboard a speedboat. On rare occasions, it is even possible to see dolphins and whales. Obviously, this tour is a spectacular choice for animal lovers and birdwatchers. In the afternoon, we will return by bus to Lima. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel.
DAY 4.- FLIGHT TO CUSCO AND CITY TOURS
After breakfast, pick up from the hotel in order to take your flight to Cusco, the ancient capital of the Incas. Reception and transfer to your selected hotel. In the afternoon between 1:45 and 2:00 pm we start the guided tour around the City, where you will have the opportunity to visit the different Cusco Incan treasures such as “Qoricancha Temple” (golden Palace), place that has in its interior many buildings with religious functions to worship different deities of the Inca time, the Cathedral, which houses approximately 300 paintings of the Cusqueña School. Then, the tour moves to the suburbs of the city in order to visit the sumptuous Sacsayhuamán (puma’s head), majestic place with impressive works in stone. Just to 200 mts of Sacsayhuaman is located our next destination: Q’enqo (Labyrinth) religious center dedicated to worship and perform religious ceremonies. Our next visits, located approximately 10 minutes by bus from Q’enqo. Puca Pucara also called as (The red fortress) that was used as military and control point center. Our last destination, located at only 100 mts. from Puca Pucara. Tambomachay (Temple of the Water) was used as a center of adoration and worship to the water.In the evening, stay the night at your Cusco hotel.
DAY 5.- SACRED VALLEY TOUR
Take a day guided tour to the colorful village of Pisaq, the Sacred Valley of the Incas, located between Pisaq and Ollantaytambo. It is a fertile valley that was chosen by the first Inca emperors of Cuzco to cultivate crops such as maize, quinoa, etc. Visit the village of Pisac, founded during colonial times. On Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, local Quechuan people barter their products in the main square and artisans from around the area sell their hand-made Alpaca and Llama textiles as well as jewelry. On Sundays, it is also the meeting place for the Varayoq and the local residents from all the villages in the region, dressed in their traditional costumes to attend morning mass. After an hour bus ride, we make a stop in Urubamba for our buffet lunch, and then a visit to Ollantaytambo, where we will enjoy the beautiful setting and the temple of the sun as well as the bath of the princess among others. In the afternoon return to Cusco whilst visiting en-route the typical living Inca town of Chinchero.
DAY 6.- GUIDED TOUR OF MACHU PICCHU
Discover the new natural and archaeological wonder of the world with Incan Wonders package tour. Today the tour will start early in the morning, your guide will meet you at the hotel in order to take the bus up to Machu Picchu, which takes about 25 minutes ride and drop you off at the entrance. You’ll have a 2 hour guided tour of the site during which you’ll learn a lot about the Incas and visit all the most important areas of the lost citadel. After your tour you’ll have free time to explore the site by yourself also to ascent either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. In the afternoon you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo from where you will be picked up and transported back to your hotel in Cusco.
DAY 7.- MORAY AND SALINERAS TOUR
We enjoy our breakfast before we begin the tour in our private transport to the Incan site of Salineras and Moray. The typical Spanish Village of Maras is situated one hour from Cusco and 7 km from Moray, we will pass and go towards the northwest of the village, where we can find the famous Salineras or salt mines. There are approximately 3000 small pans by an average area of approximately 5 m, constructed in a side of the inclination of the mountain of “Qaqawiñay”, which during the dry or winter season are filled with salty water that comes from a natural spring located at the upper part of the pools, it will gradually get solid once the water gets evaporated. This process will continue approximately for one month up to obtaining a considerable volume of solid salt, of approximately 10 cms height from the floor, which later is collected and packed for its distribution and sale to the markets of the region.
Moray consists of natural gigantic circular holes in the surface of the ground that is situated at 3 450 m.a.s.l very close to Chinchero. The Inca Civilization constructed in its contours of this area massive farming terraces or agricultural platforms with their respective irrigation canals. Its climatic conditions and other characteristics, makes this site very important center for domestication, acclimatization and hybridization of vegetable, wild plants that were modified or adapted for the human consumption.
In the afternoon, we will return to Cusco and have lunch before you head for your hotel.
DAY 8.- BUS TOUR TO PUNO AND VISIT ATTRACTIONS
After your breakfast, transfer to the bus station for the wonderful journey to the birthplace of the Incas Lake Titicaca. Lunch will be served at the Felipon restaurant, and then you will continue visiting many other attractions finally arriving in Puno. Reception and transfer to the selected three-star hotel situated close to Lake Titicaca.
DAY 9.- LAKE TITICACA TOUR AND NIGHT BUS TO AREQUIPA
Today enjoy your nutritious breakfast, and take a full-day tour by motor boat to the legendary island of Uros and Taquile on Lake Titicaca. A visit to Uros the first floating islands made out of reeds before continuing to Taquile, where residents of this self-supporting island will welcome you and show their unique ancient traditions and customs. Lunch will be served at the local restaurant in Taquile with a great panoramic view of the lake. Return to your hotel in Puno.
DAY 10.- AREQUIPA CITY TOURS
Upon arrival reception and transfer to your selected hotel. In the afternoon take a guided tour to Santa Catalina Monastery, Plaza de Armas, the Jesuit Church “La Compañia”, its cloisters and domes, the Tristan del Pozo House,Yanahuara neighborhood (vantaje point and Church), having an amazing view of the typical suburbs of Yanahuara and Carmen. Overnight in Arequipa.
DAY 11.- TRAVEL TO COLCA VALLEY
Arequipa Colca Canyon Tour starts with a pick up from your hotel. We begin our journey to one of the deepest canyons in the world, taking the road to Yura, bordering the pampas Chachani to Cañahuas (National Reserve of Aguada Blanca and Salinas), home of vicunas, Llamas and alpacas. On the way we can also see variety of migratory birds, including flamingos. Pass by the crater of an extinct volcano (Chucura). We stop at the viewpoint of the volcanoes, which is also the highest point of the road (4,800 mt.) from where we will see much of the western range. Arrival to Chivay. Transfer to the hotel followed by a lunch. We will travel to the picturesque Coporaque village, where we will start a walk of about two hours, to enjoy nature and beautiful scenery, this side of the valley also houses a pre-Inca cemetery located in the slopes of a mountain. After the walk enjoy the hot springs called La Calera hot springs whose thermo medicinal waters are very famous in this valley. Enjoy dinner with a typical folklore show. Overnight in Chivay.
DAY 12.- COLCA CANYON TOUR AND RETURN TO AREQUIPA
After enjoying our delicious breakfast, we continue our Colca Canyon 3-day tour journey towards Cruz del Condor vantage point, in order to see the Deepest Canyon of the world and the spectacular soar of the Condors. On our way back, we will stop in the farming villages of Pinchollo, Maca, and Yanque featuring beautiful colonial churches, as well as the viewpoints of Antahuilque and Choquetico, where we observe the impressive fertile terraces and pre-Inca tombs. Lunch. Return to Arequipa city. Arrival in Arequipa. Transfer to the hotel or bus terminal to continue your trip in Peru.
DAY 13.- TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT AND RETURN TO LIMA
After your Breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the airport for your travel to Lima.
